This is the character collage of the characters from the film Batman Returns. Referencing assorted magazine photos, the original composition was penciled on 24" x 18" drawing paper. I used assorted art markers to employ the stipple method (small dots) to create the detail, and filled in the rest with brush & ink. All the characters are dressed in black, so I used black as the foundation to juxtapose them into a single composition.
